Adittional Photography notes:
[1] I currently take three trips a year out of state to shoot industrial architecture. One trip is usually dedicated to just shooting industrial architecture while the other two are rolled into vacations. These three trips mainly occur in March, May, and September respectively when the weather is most favorable. As a result, photo updates around those months will be the heaviest. I ocassionally do something local in Florida in the interim but not very often. *[2] This camera has the ability to be digital via a digital back. At present I do not own a digital back but may in the future. [3] For purposes of displaying images on the website, negatives are scanned at 800dpi 8 bit grey via an Epson 4490. Usually slight post is applied to the images in Photoshop. [4] With the exception of the Gasworks gallery, all black and white images on the site were shot with black and white film mdeium format, NOT converted in the computer. [5] I currently do not use movements nor have the ability to even do so. Medium format cameras do have lenses for this but cost and perceived frequency of use detract from me obtaining one. I try a parallel shot with the 80mm now and then and try to avoid too many shots where perspective distortion is too close to paralell but not quite there. I may acquire one in the future. [6] I shoot in only natural light and never paint a scene. In fact I don't even own a flash. Photo Historic Date notes: [1] Dates indicated in thumbnail rollovers are indicitive of initial construction only. Most structures have subsequent upgrade/alteration work however for simplicity those dates are omitted. 1:160 model notes: [1] I once had a large layout in N scale back around 1988 however that has since been dismantled. Fast foward to 2005 and we see two developing passions merge which are making this new model possible. One is my increased interest in the aesthetics of machinery and more specifically steel mill architecture. While the other is the more recent release of all the Walthers industrial related kits. Personal Information notes: I am a practicing Architect interested mainly in studying industrial architecture from the earlier part of the 20th Century. I was born in NJ in 1975 and moved to Florida in 2003 where I am currently working on a renovation of an historic cigar factory (Elisardo in Misc section) built in 1904.
